The 2019-2020 season debuts Lenora in two spectacular roles. She will appear as Mimi in La Boheme and Mary in William Grant Still’s Highway 1, U.S.A. in Ann Arbor, MI. In her recital series, she presents “Ophelia Lieder,” highlighting a plethora of song interpretations of Hamlet’s Ophelia and “Songs of the African Diaspora,” which highlight many of our unsung composers of the African Diaspora.
From 2013-2017, Lenora was Artist in Residence at LeMoyne-Owen College and Stax Music Academy in Memphis, TN where she initiated a new programs Stax101 and StaxVocalClassics bridging the gap within the inner city. She is actively working with Opera Memphis to help bring opera to the city of Memphis. Her recent roles include the upcoming Countess Susanna in Ermano Wolf-Ferrari’s Il Segreto di Susanna and Mrs. Gobineau in Menotti’s The Medium. She is also a recipient of the Jane Willson Emerging Stars Award of Albany State University of Albany, GA.
In 2012-2013 season rang as she made her debut on the Michigan Opera Theater stage followed by a New Orleans Opera Association appearance as Berta in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia. She has appeared as Antonia in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Kaye Playhouse with the Martina Arroyo Foundation. Other roles performed include the Lady with the Cake box in Dominick Argento’s Postcard from Morocco, Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld, Madmne Lidoine in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites. She has also appeared at the greatly acclaimed Glimmerglass Festival singing the role of the High Priestess in Verdi’s Aida directed by Francesca Zambello.

He was selected as a winner of the Concert Artists Guild 2022 Victor Elmaleh Competition and has been distinguished as Gilmore Young Artist, an honor awarded to the most promising American pianists of the new generation, his multi-faceted artistry has been featured on NPR, PBS, CNN International, the Wall Street Journal, and WDR-Arte.
Mr. Sanchez-Werner’s recent international performances include The Royal Concertgebouw in the Netherlands, Culture Summit Abu Dhabi, the Louvre and Grenoble Museums in France, Smetana Hall in the Czech Republic, State Philharmonic Hall in Slovakia, Verbier Festival in Switzerland, Ashford Castle in Ireland, Gijon International Piano Festival in Spain, and Jack Singer Concert Hall, Musée des BeauxArts de Montreal, and Banff Arts Festival in Canada.
In the United States, he has frequently concertized at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lincoln Center, and National Sawdust in New York, Mary B. Galvin Hall in Chicago, Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University, Paramount Theater in Oakland, and the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian Art Museum, and Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Vargas holds the Pin Artistic Merits from “City Key of Prince George” and “Central Bank in Canada,” and has performed on tours in 40 countries, collaborating with acclaimed artists like Gustavo Dudamel, Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Claudio Abbado, and Christian Vasquez.
Vargas began his violinistic journey through Venezuela’s El Sistema Program. In 2017 Samuel won the prestigious Woodruff Award enabling him to study with his current mentor and professor Sergiu Schwartz at the Schwob School of Music at CSU.
He is the founder and president of the Samuel Vargas International Music Foundation, an organization which is enriching communities and society through the power of classical music, emphasizing a holistic approach to music education supporting students in all areas of studies and well-being. Through his passionate work and entrepreneurship, he has founded 8 active Venezuelan chamber orchestras and currently mentor young musicians in the US and South America.
